music

Since I bought my first synthesizer (a Korg DW-6000) in 1986 several pieces of music arose from spending countless hours with sound creation, composing and recording. At first I just played my music to some friends and maybe handed them a copy on compact-cassette. In 1997 I finally produced my first CD, followed by a second one in 1998. These CDs and other musical projects are presented here, with excerpts available in mp3 format. Other pieces are downloadable in full length.

In the meantime the CDs are sold out, but in April 2021 my most ambitious musical project so far - the 38 minute long instrumental piece "Lhanthan" - finally found its way to online distribution and is available for listening on Apple Music and for purchase in the iTunes Store (Lhanthan).

Between 1986 and 1992, in other words before and during the time period in which also some of the pieces on my second CD strange land were created in their first raw forms, and once again in 1997, there were some projects that I did together with other musicians. Apart of the pure fun of making music together, the most interesting aspect of such collaborations has always been the rise of musical ideas that none of the co-workers would have been able to develop when working alone.

From a musical perspective the years between 1999 and 2002 have been quite silent for me, which was caused by the fact that in all other aspects these years haven't been boring at all. And so it was late in 2002 when the first new pieces of music evolved from my new studio in the basement. The long intended project to finally mix and master all the music I created since then still waits for its realization. However, one musical projects of this phase is already online: my contribution to the Klopfgeist-Contest.

It is obvious that the music I create is influenced by the music I listen to. For those who are interested I collected a list of some CDs I like very much.
